Summary

The objective of this study was to see how the role of women has changed over time and how girls have been influenced by context. Through the revision of relevant literature and the analyses of seven films by Disney (1937 to 2013), we found some ways in which girls who have seen these films were affected by them. It was concluded that Disney adapted the content of the films to suit the epoch in which they were made. Women in these films played roles appropriate to the trends of the time. The vast majority of girls, both nowadays and in the past, identify with the role of the princess as they see her life and behaviour similar to their own lives, which is why they want to imitate her.
