This digital object has been developed in “Properties and new uses of materials for design” subject from the Design degree from EINA, University School of Design and Art (attached to the Autonomous University of Barcelona). The aim of the subject has been research about one material and then design a project in the Graphic Design and Visual Creation area where this material present a new use.

We studied different materials in this subject and we got interested in conductive ink. First of all we tried to obtain this special type of ink but we could not find it in any normal shop and it had a high price through internet so we decided to make the ink ourselves. The experiment was successful and for a very low price, that opened our minds and we thought about some different ways that we could apply this new material in our society, we could improve our traffic signals such as traffic lights or signals with no light using this new ink to connect solar panels to gain energy efficiently and to light signals that we could not light because of its flat shape.
