This digital object has been developed in “Properties and new uses of materials for design” subject from the Design degree from EINA, University School of Design and Art (attached to the Autonomous University of Barcelona). The aim of the subject has been research about one material and then design a project in the Graphic Design and Visual Creation area where this material present a new use.
Research and use of edible paper was limited to a culinary use in the bakery world. Furthermore, we saw that the format was really limited (it had only been used in cake decorating, and in terms of design business cards…). Our aim was to innovate in the use of edible paper.
We associated the idea of eating paper with the sustainability concept, and that is why we came to do a book to raise awareness on the economy of Cradle to Cradle to finish being eaten, so we decided to create a book highlighting the idea to close the cycle of cradle to cradle.
This concept is an approach that provides a more innovative concept of ecology, leaving aside the reduce reuse recycle methodology to actually end the cycle.
